The Brief: The nitty gritty

When we discuss the brief I'll have a list of questions about what exactly it is you want to achieve and who you want to reach. This list boils down to seven questions:

  • Who is your target audience? Name a person.
  • What TV do they watch?
  • What paper or magazine do they read?
  • What brand values does your service/product currently have? Be honest.
  • What impression would you like it to give? Be ambitious.
  • What action do you want your target audience to take? Be precise.
  • Why, in your opinion, should they take it? Be confident.

I have my own checks and guards on judging my creative work but the ultimate judge is you - if you don't like what I've written then it's back to the drawing board. I'm not precious about my writing nor about my ideas. There are millions of copywriting ideas out there in the ether swirling around. It's a question of finding the right one for you.

Now for the bottom line: I charge a fixed fee within your budget.
